Qatar Charity (QC) handed over 16 wheelchairs to officials of the Amir Cup to help fans, such as the elderly and people with disabilities, easily move around and reach different parts of the stadium.
The handover of the wheelchairs comes as part of co-operation between Qatar Charity and the Qatar Football Association and within the framework of the social responsibility of both parties, a press statement notes. This co-operation for the Amir Cup combines humanitarian work and sports to achieve the common goals of the two parties.
It highlights QC’s role in contributing to the success of the Amir Cup, in co-operation with State institutions and relevant authorities, serving those with special needs within the local community and facilitating the easy movement of the fans with disabilities.
Qatar Charity has previously provided wheelchairs to the relevant authorities for different sports tournaments. For instance, it had handed over 53 wheelchairs to the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy for fans of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
