With an objective to equip the entrant-level students of Computer Science with in-demand programming skills, the senior students of MES Indian School conducted a four-day Python boot camp. The programme was designed to give hands-on experience in the popular programming language and to help students develop real-world applications using Python.
A total of 40 junior students participated. The six student-trainers used interactive teaching methods, including live coding demonstrations and hands-on activities, to make the learning experience engaging and practical. The student trainees of the boot camp gained a comprehensive understanding of Python programming, including the language's syntax, data structures, and object-oriented programming concepts and basic API concepts.
The curriculum also covered various Python libraries, including NumPy, Pandas, and Matplotlib, which are essential for data analysis and visualisation. As part of the boot camp, students were tasked with developing a real-world project, which they presented to their peers and senior students on the final day. The project allowed them to put their newly acquired skills to the test and showcase their creativity.
The valedictory ceremony was graced by principal Dr Hameeda Kadar who gave away merit certificates to the outstanding students which included Mayyasa Mujeeb and Yugiraj Dharmaraja. Computer Science Department head Blessy Mary co-ordinated the event along with the teachers in charge, Jaisheeba R and Keerthy M.
