To laud the roles played by the nurses in everyone’s life and to honour them befittingly, MES Indian School marked the International Nurses’ Day on May 11 with an array of events. Special assemblies were conducted in each section. Children brought posters on the topic and penned poems.
Mahek Sheikh (XII-M) delivered a speech depicting the importance of Nurses Day, and a poem was recited by Redhin Kentseba (XII-M). Students of Boys, Girls, Junior and KG Sections were attired as nurses and highlighted the nobility of the profession. Addressing the gathering on the occasion, principal Dr Hameeda Kadar felicitated the school nurses for their hard work, collaborative care and for guiding students to healthy lifestyles. The school nurses, Shiju Sebastian, Gincy Wilson and Praaseela K Augustine were presented with gifts as a token of appreciation and thanksgiving.
The programme also witnessed a cake-cutting ceremony to honour the nurses' selfless service to humanity. Teachers Atheen Bahanan, Jency George, Nazanin, Rameesh Fathima, Nisha Menon, Fahira and Limymol Niyas co-ordinated the event compered by Needhu.
