Abdullah Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs continues to provide its educational programmes to the communities residing in the country, which includes introducing Islam and Islamic culture, and programmes for teaching Arabic to non-native speakers, in addition to holding educational activities and religious lectures, which generally aim to provide an integrated and balanced picture of Islam, its culture and civilisation.
In this context, a number of university students and a number of tourist guides wishing to learn about Qatar's culture and heritage visited the centre as part of their training programme on tourist guidance on the Discover Qatar platform. During their visit to the centre, they learned about various aspects of Qatari culture and Islamic civilisation. This visit comes as a continuation of the co-operation with the authorities concerned with tourism work in the country, where the centre contributes to educating tour guides about the heritage and culture in Qatar.
In the same context, nine students from the student exchange programme at Texas A&M University visited the centre, and learned about Qatari culture through the centre's heritage hall, and Islam, its law and civilisation through the main cultural hall. They expressed their admiration and praised the work done by the centre.
The centre also held an event at its main headquarters and its two branches in the Industrial Area and Al-Khor city to educate the 165 new Muslim converts.
