The meeting reviewed Qatar-Vietnam bilateral relations, especially in the economic and commercial fields, and ways to enhance them. It also discussed the investment climate and opportunities available in both countries and the role of the private sector in enhancing trade exchange.
Speaking at the meeting, Xuan praised both countries’ relations, noting that she aims to elevate it to “higher levels,” especially in the commercial and investment areas, as well as increasing bilateral trade exchange and co-operation in the halal trade, particularly the entry of Vietnamese halal products into Islamic markets.
She discussed the investment climate of Vietnam, stressing that it welcomes Qatari investors. Xuan said Vietnam provides a host of incentives for Qatari investors, affirming the role that can be performed by chambers of both countries in facilitating the needs of businessmen from both countries to deepen investment and commercial co-operation.
Sheikh Khalifa stressed the interest of Qatari businessmen in learning about the investment climate and opportunities in Vietnam, especially in the agriculture, technology, and mining sectors, affirming that there are several Qatari businesses that are eager to direct their investments to Vietnam.
He also assured the chamber’s interest in strengthening co-operation between business sectors in both countries, referring to the meeting which will be held at the end of this week between Qatari businessmen and a Vietnamese trade delegation, which will review co-operation vistas and the possibility of establishing commercial partnerships and alliances between Qatari and Vietnamese businesses, as well as means to develop trade exchange.
Sheikh Khalifa also stressed that Qatar Chamber will organise a business trip for a number of Qatari businessmen to Vietnam to explore the investment opportunities available in the country.
