The 14th Arab Robotics Championship, organised by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE), kicked off Sunday at Lusail Sports Arena, with the participation of 16 countries.
Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs at MoEHE Maha Al Ruwaili, President of the Arab Society for Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Ismail Hassan, and guests from various Arab countries participating in the tournament attended the opening ceremony.
In her opening speech, Maha Al Ruwaili said that Qatar's hosting of the tournament affirms its vision in the knowledge economy by increasing the efficiency of human resources and developing students' abilities to deal with technological and knowledge developments and welcomed all participants in the tournament.
This edition of the championship represents builds on the great successes of the previous editions. The championship is an educational forum that brings together the youth of the Arab world on the path of science, knowledge, innovation, passion, and creativity in designing educational robots. Its role is to exchange experiences between the participants and build social relations between them, she said.
Al Ruwaili expressed her hope that the championship would combine fun, interest, competition, and excellence, and meet the aspirations of the Arab world towards consolidating the values of knowledge, initiative, and innovation.
For his part, the President of the Arab Society for Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Ismail Hassan praised the efforts made by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the Qatar Science Club, and the Arab Society for Robotics and Artificial Intelligence in organising the championship and the tireless coordination efforts made by all parties to make the necessary arrangements.
He stressed Qatar's success in hosting the tournament for the third time since the beginning of the championship, stressing its role in encouraging Arab youth's creativity and innovation in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence, and providing them with all the requirements for success through the necessary knowledge and skills.
The 14th Arab Robotics Championship is an important hub to celebrate the achievements of Arab students who have striven to achieve valuable achievements in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence, noting the efforts of their supervisors, he said.
