With an objective to honour workers and create awareness of the significance of their contributions, MES Indian School observed the International Workers’ Day on May 1.
Special Assemblies were conducted in each section with students expressing their respect for the workers. Subsequently, an event in the conference hall saw students dressed as professionals, welcoming the non-teaching faculty of the school and expressing their gratitude. A skit and poem recitation followed. The support staff were honoured with gifts.
Principal Dr Hameeda Kadar spoke about the dignity of each profession in the society and urged the students to uphold the values of humanity in their lives and to cultivate the habit of appreciating the efforts of the labour community.
Mohamed Ashkar and Arundathi Gopikrishnan delivered the welcome speech and vote of thanks, respectively. Teachers Anver K, Atheen Behanan, Sumitha and Limymol Niyas co-ordinated the event.
