The activities of the Fifth Palestinian Cultural Heritage Festival, which started on Thursday, continued to attract more visitors at Katara - the Cultural Village Friday.
The festival, taking place daily from 4pm to 11pm at Southern Area of Katara until May 13, is under the the motto "from Memory and Heritage" and under the patronage of the Palestinian Embassy in Doha and the cultural partner Katara.
At the opening of the festival, the Palestinian ambassador Munir Ghanim highly appreciated the huge turnout of visitors who showed interest in the Palestinian culture and folklore. He said that the this festival transports to Qatar various aspects of the culture and heritage of Palestine that goes back deep in history.
The envoy explained that Palestine enjoys a unique place as it is considered the land of religions and the place where the East meets the West, which make it immensely rich in the human experience and history due to the different civilisations that followed each others there. He also wished the visitors an excellent cultural experience of joy and entertainment through the various features of the festival.
Ambassador Ghanim also thanked Qatar and its wise leadership and government for the consistent support of the Palestinian people in their legitimate struggle to attain their lawful rights.
The festival offers a collection of shows and performances daily, offering insight into the Palestinian culture and heritage, through music, songs, dances, handicraft exhibition and a performance by the Palestinian School in Doha.
