The Qatar Football Association (QFA) is participating in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Coach Education Conference in the Malaysian capital city of Kuala Lumpur under the theme of “Educating Tomorrow’s Coaches”.
Returning for the first time since 2019, the conference concluded yesterday, with the participation of the most renowned experts, not only in Asia, but from around the world to share their ideas on the best ways to develop coach education programs. The QFA was represented by Director of the Development Department Fahad Thani Al Zaraa. The conference deals with Coach Education being among the key technical pillars of the AFC in its pursuit of developing football at all levels on the Continent as well as ways to develop preparation programs and courses for local coaches in Asian federations.
The QFA is among the most advanced Asian federations in the field of developing coaches, as it has a joint education agreement with the AFC since November 2019. The QFA’s model of education and development has received great interest from other associations and many requests were received to join coaches’ courses - including courses of professional coaches - from friendly associations. Fahad Thani said that the Asian football has witnessed a clear evolution in recent years and the future looks bright, adding coaches must keep abreast of the latest developments in order to build on them for future generations.
