Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov arrived Thursday in India to take part in a ministerial meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
The top SCO diplomats will discuss the agenda of the upcoming meeting of the SCO heads of state due in New Delhi on July 3-4, (TASS) news agency reported.
Along with the participation in the ministerial meeting, Lavrov is expected to hold a number of bilateral meeting, in particular with his counterparts from India, Pakistan, and China, TASS said.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization is a Eurasian international political, economic, security organization established on June 15, 2001 in Shanghai, by the leaders of China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. In June 2017, India and Pakistan officially joined SCO as full-members.
