The mosque was endowed by Mohamed Ghanem Ali al-Maadeed and it comes within the framework of Awqaf’s plan to expand the number of mosques and develop them in all regions of the country while keeping pace with urban growth and population increase in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.

The new mosque’s number is MS 1363. It includes a main prayer hall that can accommodate 325 worshippers and a women’s hall that can accommodate 65 worshippers.

A house for the imam and a residence for the muezzin are attached to the mosque.

The Department of Engineering Affairs at Awqaf is concerned with meeting the needs of different regions in the country in terms of mosques and prayer grounds, which includes providing them with temporary mosques and supervising them.

The department also prepares the annual plan for the maintenance of mosques and imams’ residences.

This is done in co-ordination with the competent authorities, supervising the preparation and implementation of construction and maintenance works for mosques as well as the construction of imams’ residences.

Regarding mosque designs, the administration takes into account the different areas where mosques will be built along with requirements, such as green and sustainable buildings.

It stresses the conditions for sustainability in terms of the use of electricity and water and preserving aesthetics that reflect the authenticity of Qatari and Islamic heritage.

Awqaf’s plans to build mosques also take into account population density, engineering and architectural specifications, and the heritage aspect within the framework of caring for the houses of God to worship and serve the worshippers.
