Hamad Mubarak Alafnan and Ranald Ranald McNeill walked away with the winners’ prizes in the men’s section at the Qatar Senior Open 2023 at the Doha Golf Club yesterday.
Uzma Mir and Nichapa Wichaidit claimed the honours in the ladies’ section.
The two-day event, organised by Doha Golf Club and Qatar Golf Association, saw a record number of participants and the podium finishers walked away with valuable gifts and vouchers for their sterling efforts on the golf course.
Alafnan finished with a gross total of 152 in the men’s gross over 50 to walk away with the top prize. Kittisak Sangorn finished runners-up while Claes Byberg, Naser Yaqoob Saleh and Theo Scheepers came third, fourth and fifth respectively.
In the men’s nett McNeill took the top position followed by Winston Agcon, Mubarak Essa al-Kuwari, Andrew Napier and Fazal Abdul Kazi.
In the women’s section, Uzma finished on top in the ladies gross over 50’s category while Nichapa took the top spot in the ladies nett. Francesco di Marco won the men’s gross for over 75 years of age while Yohann Pedder won the Nearest the pin for the first day and Adam Thornecroft won it for the second day.
A raffle draw was also held on the occasion in which the players took part.
