The smallest planet in the solar system Mercury will pass between the Sun in an astronomical phenomenon known as the inferior conjunction of Mercury, Qatar Calendar House (QCH) announced Sunday.

The phenomenon of the inferior conjunction of Mercury will take place Tuesday morning, at 2:22 am Doha local time.

This phenomenon is considered a significant phenomena, because it is an indicative of the transition of the planet Mercury from its appearance during evening time after sunset above the western horizon, to its appearance during dawn before sunrise above the eastern horizon, said the expert in astronomy at Qatar Calendar House, Dr Bashir Marzouk.

He added that the last time such a phenomenon happened was on Jan 7, this year, and added that it will happen again on Wednesday, September 6.

In addition, all inhabitants of the Earth planet will not be able to visually observe Mercury during the inferior conjunction, because Mercury will rise and set at the same time as tomorrow's sunrise and sunset approximately.
