The organising committee of the 'Discover Andalusia 2023' competition held a meeting with Qatari artists participating in the programme to explain the details of their 12-day artistic trip to Andalusia in Spain, local Arabic daily Arrayah reports.

The Qatari artists were selected based on their artwork and a personal interview to join the Museum of Islamic Art team. The journey begins in Granada, the city which held the secrets of Beni al-Ahmar, and the Alhambra Palace. The next stop will be the city of Cordoba, the early capital of the Umayyad state in Andalusia. The artists are to explore the Mosque of Cordoba, which has always been a symbol and example of tolerance and coexistence between cultures and religions in Andalusia.

They will also participate in technical workshops on Islamic geometry, perfume making, ceramic tiles, leather engraving, and other traditional arts that Andalusia is famous for.
