Qatar is set to participate in the 30th edition of the Arabian Travel Market (ATM), scheduled to be held from May 1-4 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, the UAE, the official Qatar News Agency reports.
Qatar Tourism will lead a delegation of 43 partners at the event. This follows the country’s remarkable success in hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, where Qatar's hospitality and tourism industry demonstrated its ability to deliver world-class events.
Qatar Tourism’s 603sqm, double-decker pavilion will feature the destination’s one-of-a-kind attractions and its unique blend of modernity and cultural authenticity. Qatar's participation in ATM demonstrates the country’s ongoing commitment to position itself as a leading global destination for travel and leisure, a press statement notes.
Berthold Trenkel, chief operating officer at Qatar Tourism, said: “We are pleased to take part in the Arabian Travel Market and showcase Qatar’s incredible offering as a world-class tourism destination. In particular, this leading travel and tourism exhibition allows us to engage directly with core markets that we have identified as part of our 2030 strategy.
"We invite industry professionals to step into our exceptional pavilion and immersive themselves in the authentic culture and hospitality that Qatar is famed for. We look forward to highlighting the latest leisure developments taking place in Qatar and strengthening our partnerships with key travel and tourism stakeholders throughout the event.”
Qatar Tourism's pavilion at ATM will feature an array of unique attractions, including a Whale Shark activation, where visitors can view up-close the beauty of this endangered species. It will also include an augmented reality photo booth that will allow visitors to take pictures in iconic Qatari destinations.
Additionally, there will be an immersive room that will play scenic destinations across Qatar, providing visitors with a 360-degree experience of the country's attractions where visitors can explore and interact with Qatar’s unique tourism offerings in real time, per their interests.
In addition to the pavilion's attractions, Qatar Tourism will have a dedicated cultural area that depicts Souq Waqif, the country’s most popular traditional market, and serve Arabic coffee to guests. With the Expo 2023 Doha taking place later this year, Qatar Tourism will also shine a spotlight on this major upcoming event with an area at ATM dedicated to the Expo.
