Formidable Al Rayyan SC clinched the Qatar Volleyball League after posting a convincing 3-0 (25-21, 25-17, 25-21) victory in the playoff finals over their fierce rivals Al Arabi SC. It is the second time in a short span of time that Rayyan has defeated Arabi to cement their status as the top team in the league. Ali Ghanem al-Kuwari, President of the Qatar and West Asia Volleyball Associations, presented the trophies. In the finals, key to Rayyan’s success was the outstanding play of Oliver Venno, who once again proved to be the star of the game. With 18 points to his name, Venno was instrumental in steering his team to the victory and became the match’s top scorer. On the opposing side, Marko Sedlacek and Dusan Petkovic each scored 11 points for Arabi.
