For the first time, the Eid prayer at Qatar Foundation ( QF) has been held at the Education City Stadium – with the community gathering to mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

The Education City Stadium, one of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 venues, wore a different look Friday morning as thousands of people gathered there for the Eid al-Fitr prayer. The stadium also hosted the Eid Festival.

"We are grateful to everyone who joined us for the Eid al-Fitr prayer and festival at the Education City Stadium to celebrate the joyous occasion of Eid," QF tweeted.

The prayer, hosted by the Minaretein Centre (Education City Mosque), was followed by an Eid Festival, as people of all ages from across Qatar celebrated the start of Eid al-Fitr.

The Eid al-Fitr prayer marked the end of the holy month of Ramadan, and was an opportunity for the faithful to come together as a community.

Following the prayer, the Minaretein Centre hosted the Eid Festival with fun activities for all ages - especially children - including face painting and games, as well as food vendors.

The Eid Festival featured various activities and attractions, such as kids' bouncing castles, basketball hoops, giant Jenga, food carts, air hockey, corn hole throw, face painting, sports inflatables, mini soccer, mini golf, giant tic-tac-toe, and sub soccer.
