More than 170 volunteers from the Philippines, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Indian communities came together to distribute about 3,000 Iftar packs at two traffic signals in Doha recently. The event, supported by Al Jaber Opticians, concluded with a volunteers dinner. The main purposes were to promote road safety awareness by urging motorists not to rush in order to break their fast. Al Jaber Opticians’ employees, Stone Guardians Brotherhood Inc, Qatar Volunteers Group and Silent Volunteers supported the event, according to a statement issued by Sri Lankan social activist Isham Marikar, who participated as a volunteer.
