The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Al Budaiwi discussed with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov via a phone call today, the importance of consolidating GCC-Azerbaijan relations in the service of their common interests.
During the phone call, the two sides reviewed the relations of GCC member states and Azerbaijan, as well as ways to enhance them, and the means to ensure their development in various fields, activating areas of cooperation such as the economy, trade, tourism, education, energy, agricultural investment, food security, and intercultural communication, in light of the memorandum of understanding signed between the Council and Azerbaijan in 2013.
The GCC Secretary-General and the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of common interest.
