Qatar Fuel (Woqod) has achieved a five-star grading from its recent Five Star Occupational Health and Safety Audit conducted by the British Safety Council.

Woqod underwent a detailed, quantified, and objective evaluation of its occupational health and safety management system. The audit measured the company’s performance against several key best practice indicators and achieved the highest available rating indicators in leadership, stakeholder engagement, risk management, organisational health and safety culture, and continual improvement, which are continually assessed throughout the audit process.

The British Safety Council Five Star Audit involves an in-depth examination of an organisation’s entire health and safety management system and associated arrangements and offers a structured path for continual improvement towards best practice status.

“We are honoured to receive this recognition. At Woqod, the safety of our employees is our top priority. This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team in maintaining the highest standards of occupational safety,” said Woqod managing director & CEO Saad Rashid al-Muhannadi.

Chief Support Services officer Ahmed Merza said, “The award of a five-star grading is an outstanding achievement and is reflective of Woqod’s proactive commitment to continual improvement in its health and safety arrangements and managing risks to workers’ health, safety, and well-being”.
