The Filipino Food Month in Doha kicked off on Saturday at FlaminGo restaurant, featuring an array of Filipino dishes, the Philippines embassy in Qatar has announced.

The event was graced by Philippines ambassador Lillibeth V Pono, who introduced and shared the Balbacua, Kare-Kare, Sisig, Isaw, Pichi-pichi, Puto Bumbong and Bibingka to guests.

She thanked FlaminGo owner Leo Pasia for participating in the annual gastronomic celebration.

In celebration of Filipino Food Month this year, the Philippines embassy noted that it collaborates with participating Filipino restaurants to pay tribute to Filipino chefs and restaurateurs who bring the unique taste of Filipino cuisine to Qatar.

“We invite all Filipinos in Qatar to join us, together with their non-Filipino friends to be a part of this gastronomic experience,” the embassy said.
