Ooredoo has shared Iftar with staff and children of the Orphan Care Centre (Dreama) as part of a wider commitment to corporate social responsibility.
Ooredoo partnered with Leisure and the Chedi Katara Hotel & Resort to host the event, which was joined by sporting hero Mutaz Essa Barshim. Following Iftar, Ooredoo distributed gifts to the children under Dreama’s care.
Moza Khalid al-Mohannadi, director, CSR, Sponsorship & Media at Ooredoo, said: “Dreama is one of many worthy causes supported by Ooredoo in the holy month of Ramadan, meaning that an Iftar for the orphans of the Dreama Orphan Care Centre is an ideal way to express our support for the community at this special time of year.
“It has also been a pleasure working with two excellent organisations to turn public-spirited ideas into reality, especially inside Chedi Katara Hotel & Resort, a favourite destination both for local and international guests.”
Mohamed Mansour, acting general manager, Chedi Katara Hotel & Resort, said: “We are delighted to partner with Ooredoo and Leisure to organise this special event for the children of Dreama. At Chedi Katara, we believe that every child deserves a chance to dream and have fun, and we are honoured to be able to provide a memorable experience for them. We hope that this event will bring joy to their hearts and inspire them to pursue their passions and aspirations.”
Sherif Elbassiouny, managing director of Leisure, said: “We firmly believe that our responsibility extends beyond our doors. We have a moral obligation to give back to the community while making a positive impact on everyone in different ways. Along with our partners, Ooredoo, and Chedi Katara, we are delighted to bring happiness to the children of Dreama during the holy month of Ramadan.”
Dreama was established under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser in 2002 and has operated under the umbrella of Qatar Foundation for Social Work since 2013.
