More than 500 Sri Lankan families attended the first Garangao cultural event hosted by the Sri Lankan Women’s Association of Qatar (SLWAQ) in collaboration with Stafford Sri Lankan School Doha.
The festival featured a number of entertainment activities, including arts and crafts, storytelling, games, folk songs and puppet shows for children along with the traditional Garangao gifts and sweets distribution
Association president Ishani Sandanayake stated that one of the objectives of the occasion was to introduce Qatari culture to the expats.
