Students at MES Indian School celebrated the Garangao festival with several activities featuring children in traditional Qatari attire. Head prefect Dalyn Sylavanus gave an introduction about the occasion, marked on the 14th day of Ramadan.
Principal Dr Hameeda Kadar gave the inaugural address. Mariyam Munir from the Junior Section spoke about the traditional significance of Garangao.
Ashmil Ahmed and his team from the Boys’ Section rendered a song.
Ayesha and team presented a dance. Pradeeksha gave a speech, followed by Na’at presentation by Tahania and team.
Rihab Shameer and Aaron John presented a narration.
A quiz was conducted by Randheer K, a teacher from the Boys’ Section. Head boy Ashkar Muhammed welcomed the gathering and Deepika Palani proposed a vote of thanks.
In a special assembly in the KG Hall, the tiny tots danced to Arabic tunes followed by a parade.
Jahfar Niyas Para, Resha Amzad Khan, Rassia Hamza, Sumitha Nassar, Sumayyabi M S, Jasna Jumana and Hajeera along with a team of teachers co-ordinated the event.
