Commercial Bank, the most innovative digital bank in Qatar, and as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, is keen to spread the spirit of Ramadan and the values of giving. This Ramadan, the bank organised various innovative activities and events aimed at giving back to the community and spreading joy during this holy month.
“Ramadan is the month of spreading kindness and sharing with others, and Commercial Bank is committed to give back to the community through its Corporate Social Responsibility program, where all our initiatives and activities showcased the real spirit of giving and unity during Ramadan. We remain committed to fostering positive change and will continue to strengthen our CSR initiatives in the years to come,” said Hussein al-Abdulla, EGM, chief marketing officer and Head of CB Premium Banking at Commercial Bank.
The lender launched its Ramadan initiatives on March 20, by distributing 100 charity boxes to those who are less fortunate as well as to the bank’s contractors and security guards. Several senior management members and a group of the bank’s staff participated in the distribution of the boxes.
Its team joined the elderly for a Ghabqa dinner, which has been held on March 28th, in co-operation with the Center for Empowerment and Elderly Care (Ehsan). The event took place at Saasna Restaurant in Msheireb, where the elders shared their life experiences especially when it comes to tradition and culture with its staff members.
Additionally, Commercial Bank hosted its annual staff Suhoor from April 2 to 4, at Westin Doha Hotel, bringing employees together, with the presence of the chairman, board members, group chief executive officer and a number of the bank’s customers. The event aimed to strengthen bonds and celebrate the holy month as a united team.
It celebrated the Garangao night on April 5 at Commercial Bank’s mall branches where gifts were distributed to kids. Customers were also invited to join the staff for fun, gifts, and celebrations, along with enjoying the unique decorations at the CB Premium Lounge in Vendome Mall.
The bank’s team also celebrated Garangao, with students from Alhidaya School for Special Needs - Primary Preparatory Secondary for Girls, where the team visited the young girls to share with them the joy and spirit of Grangao. The team also visited Al-Wakra Primary School for Girls, Al Manar International School, and Qatar Academy Al Wakra – member of Qatar Foundation, where the team distributed the Garangao gift boxes to students.
In collaboration with Qatar Charity, Commercial Bank hosted the 'Iftar Jawal' event on April 7. The event brought happiness and warmth to the community by distributing iftar boxes to break the fast to people near some road signals. Ashjan al-Khalaf, sponsorships and events manager at the bank said: “We are proud to have played an active role in making a difference during Ramadan. Our various initiatives showcased the real Ramadan spirit, and we have witnessed first hand the impact of our efforts on the community."
"As we celebrate the success of these events, we're reminded of the importance of continuing to give back and make a positive and needed impact on the lives of those around us,” he said.
