Organised by the permanent delegation of the State of Qatar to the United Nations, Qatar held a screening for 'Beyond the Cup' movie on the occasion of International Day of Sport for Development and Peace. The event took place at the headquarters of the United Nations, in partnership with the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Washington, the Permanent Delegation of the Principality of Monaco, the United Nations Training Institute, and Football for the Goals.

HE the Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the UN Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani gave a speech to mark the occasion and said that the State of Qatar endorsed the concept of sport for development and peace, as was evident during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. She highlighted that the State of Qatar committed to following and including the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals in the essence of the tournament.

HE Sheikha Alya Ahmed said that 'Beyond the Cup' is a documentary produced by Juan Carlos the director and directed Melody Carley. It highlights the development and innovation of the World Cup in Qatar, in addition to the sustainability measures taken during the competition.

The screening saw a big turnout from permanent envoys, UN representatives, and football fans from all over the US.
