Mohamed Hassan al-Obaidly, assistant undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour (MoL), and Mahmoud al-Siddiqi, director of the Labour Office, Permanent Delegation in Geneva, met with a delegation from the International Transport Workers' Federation (ITF).
This came within the framework of co-operation between the MoL and ITF, and reviewing of the memorandum of understanding and co-operation between the two parties.
The meeting, which took place in Istanbul, Turkiye, witnessed the discussion of a joint action plan for the current year, which includes enhancing occupational health and safety, combating human trafficking, promoting decent work, and ways to enhance co-operation between the two sides in the strategic partnership to implement future plans.
The Ministry of Labour had signed a memorandum of understanding with ITF in 2017, as part of the activities related to the implementation of the technical co-operation programme between Qatar and the International Labour Organisation.
