The tents set up by the General Department of Endowments at the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs for distributing Iftar meals are witnessing a large turnout of fasting persons, including workers, this Ramadan. The directorate is distributing 4,000 Iftar meals on a daily basis as part of the initiative.
The meals are being provided through the 'Iftar Sa'im Endowment' project, which is part of the initiatives implemented by endowment bank for righteousness and piety at Awqaf. The directorate is distributing 1,000 meals a day at each of the following locations: Eid prayer area in Old Al Rayyan, Eid prayer area in Al Aziziyah, Al Asmakh area next to the Grand Mosque, and the Industrial Area, QNA reports.
The General Directorate of Endowments designated certain areas to receive fasting persons and various Iftar meals are distributed among them, while taking into account security and safety requirements as well as comfort and ease of access. In a statement, Awqaf said the tents at Al Asmakh and Industrial Areas were opened after the beginning of Ramadan due to the presence of a large number of workers and individuals in those areas.
At the beginning of the holy month, Awqaf had set up tents in Eid prayer areas at Old Al Rayyan and Al Aziziyah. Also, Awqaf selected the best-quality restaurants to prepare the meals and asked them to strictly adhere to health measures and requirements while ensuring environment-friendly and recyclable packaging. The distribution and other related matters are conducted by experienced supervisers who ensure that all the requirements of the beneficiaries are met.
