In the presence of US ambassador to Qatar Timmy T Davis, Cadillac - along with its exclusive dealer partner in Qatar, Mannai Auto Group - lifted the curtain on Cadillac’s first electric vehicle, the exquisite LYRIQ.
The exclusive event took place at Mannai Auto’s showroom in Doha with representatives from Mannai Group and VIP customers on the guest list.
Khalid Mannai, vice-chairman of Mannai Corporation Executive Committee, said: “This is a historic moment for Cadillac in Qatar and Mannai Auto. Our journey as Cadillac’s exclusive dealer partner had proudly begun 52 years ago. Throughout the decades, we’ve grown together and celebrated one milestone after the other and 2023 is certainly a landmark year for us. With the reveal of LYRIQ, we’re embarking together on a new, exciting and promising chapter of redefining the luxury electric vehicle space.”
Davis said, “Cadillacs are iconic. They make cars that are a global symbol of US culture and identity. Cadillac vehicles transport the President of the United States, and now, I am so happy to be part of the iconic story of this brand here in Qatar with the unveiling of the LYRIQ."
Building on Cadillac’s 120 years of design craftsmanship, technological innovations and advanced performance, LYRIQ is truly iconic and unlike anything on the road today, yet instantly recognisable as a Cadillac, a press statement notes.
Embodying Cadillac’s new visual identity, the LYRIQ "represents the most beautiful integration of design and technology that will make you feel as if you were driving in the future," it adds.
Rajesh Krishnan, Group general manager of the Automotive Business, said: “Cadillac entered the decade as an ICE (internal combustion engine) vehicle brand and aims to exit it with a fully electric vehicle portfolio. The all-new Cadillac LYRIQ is the vanguard of this transition. It will be followed by the ultra-luxury CELESTIQ next year and four other electric vehicles confirmed to arrive to the region by 2025, asserting Cadillac’s commitment to the mobility aspirations of the Middle East.”
The Cadillac LYRIQ will be available with premier technologies and stirring performance capabilities enabled by the vehicle’s dedicated electric architecture. A 12-module, 102-kilowatt-hour battery pack and an all-wheel-drive Ultium Platform deliver a Cadillac-estimated 500 horsepower and 610Nm of torque, and a range of approximately 500km with a full charge. LYRIQ also offers high-speed DC fast charging, enabling customers to add an estimated 125km of range in about 10 minutes of charging time.
Aesthetically, LYRIQ is a sight to behold. The interior is clean and simple with a focus on secondary and tertiary design elements, including intricate laser etched patterns through wood over metal decor, which has never been done before. The large, curved LED screen is the centrepiece, alongside the distinctive black crystal grille, and all the components are incorporated artfully, blurring the lines of separation among technology, lighting and decor.
Additional information about the LYRIQ availability will be shared at a later stage.
