Qatar SC won their sixth Amir Cup Table Tennis title in a row after beating Al Arabi 3-2 in the final in Ras Abu Aboud on Wednesday night. First Vice-President of the Qatar Olympic Committee Mohamed Yousef al-Mana and President of the Qatar Table Tennis Association (QTTA) Khalil al-Mohannadi, who is also President of Arab and Asian federations, attended the final and honoured the top two teams.
It was seventh overall title triumph for Qatar SC, who won their maiden title in 2001-2002 editions. They are winning the tournament since 2017-2018. The loss for Al Arabi was their ninth defeat in the final of the tournament while they were winners on five occasions. Al-Mana hailed the level of competition in the event. “It was an exciting final and Qatar SC won the final in the last stages. Both the teams fought well for the title and the fans enjoyed the game,” he said. Meanwhile, al-Mohannadi expressed his delight over successful organisation of the event and congratulated the finalists.
