On March 26, Bangladesh MHM School and College in Doha, Qatar celebrated the 52nd anniversary of the Independence and National Day, paying tributes to the nine-month long Liberation War under the leadership of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The day’s activities commenced with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an.
Bangladesh ambassador and the school chairman Md Nazrul Islam hoisted the national flag in the presence of senior officials.
The envoy paid respects to Bangabandhu, the four national leaders, the valiant freedom fighters and the millions of martyrs. He stressed that, Bangladesh has become the model of development and growth, in terms of the economy, infrastructure projects, education and women’s empowerment.
School director, retired Lt Cdr Md Anwar Khurshid, pointed out that students should uphold the history of sacrifice of the Liberation War.
Principal Md Zulfiker Azad encouraged the students to devote themselves to pursuing their duties to become worthy citizens by taking forward the country and materialising the dream of Bangabandhu.
