Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi called on the Yemeni people to unite and uphold the higher interest of Yemen to enjoy peace, security and stability; stressing that the current conditions are favorable for engaging in peace talks to reach a political solution in accordance with the Gulf initiative, the outcomes of the Comprehensive Dialogue Conference, and Security Council Resolution 2016.
On the occasion of one-year anniversary of the intra-Yemeni consultations, the GCC Secretary-General praised the progress made during the consultations hosted by the Gulf Cooperation Council from March 29 to April 7, 2022 which brought together the Yemeni leaderships, members of the House of Representatives and the Shura Council, and representatives of political forces and civil society. They reached important mechanisms to strengthen unity, build channels of communication, consultation and reconciliation, and support the economic decision to alleviate the suffering of the brotherly Yemeni people and resume the process of development and construction.
The Gulf Cooperation Council is confident that the Yemeni people, who are known of wisdom and faith, will achieve those lofty and noble goals which the intra-Yemeni consultations were held to achieve, he added.
