The General Directorate of Endowments at the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs said the Iftar tent at the Thursday & Friday Market in Ain Khaled is witnessing a large turnout of individuals, as more than 1,200 fasting people take Iftar there every day.
This tent is part of the 'Iftar for the Fasting' project for the year 1444 AH.
In a statement, the directorate said it had prepared tents to welcome fasting people for Iftar, providing all security and safety requirements. The Iftar tents are overseen by dozens of qualified and trained supervisers from the ministry.
The directorate is organising the Iftar meals project at 10 sites in different regions of the country with a high population density, aiming to provide Iftar for over 10,000 fasting people on a daily basis.
The directorate receives contributions from charitable endowers to support Iftar sites for fasting people, whether by covering the expenses of a full tent or contributing according to one's ability.
