HE the Minister of Transport Jassim Saif Ahmed al-Sulaiti on Friday crowned the Qatar Airways team as champions of the second edition of the Minister of Transport Ramadan Padel Championship Cup after their outstanding performance against the Ministry of Transport (MoT) team.
According to a press statement from the MoT, the Qatar Airways team won 3-0 in the final held at Padel In, Aspire Zone, amid a large fan attendance. The Qatar Airways team was in full control of the three games, a press statement noted.
The event was attended by Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive HE Akbar al-Baker, Public Works Authority (Ashghal) President and Mowasalat (Karwa) Chairman Dr Saad bin Ahmad al-Muhannadi, HE the Director-General of Qatar Aeronautical Academy Sheikh Jabor bin Hamad al-Thani, Mwani Qatar CEO Captain Abdulla Mohamed al-Khanji, Mowasalat (Karwa) CEO Fahad Saad al-Qahtani, GCEO of QTerminals Neville Bissett, Interim PCEO at Milaha Mohamed Swidan and several officials from the MoT and transportation industry.
This year’s championship featured 36 teams from the MoT, Qatar Rail, Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, Qatar Airways, Mowasalat (Karwa), Mwani Qatar, QTerminals, Milaha and Qatar Aeronautical Academy.
HE al-Sulaiti appreciated the tournament sponsors: Mwani Qatar and QTerminals as Official Sponsors and Qatar Airways as Gold Sponsor.
“We are so happy for a successful second edition of the Minister of Transport Ramadan Padel Championship Cup, particularly as this tournament comes in response to the staff desire at entities working in the transportation sector,” said Lolan Abdelaziz al-Jassim, Public Relations and Communication director at the MoT.
“We look forward to organising another professional championship next year in conjunction with Qatar Rail,” she added.
