More than 60 high school students from across Qatar attended the Future A&M Engineers (FAME) event, hosted by the Student Engineers’ Council (SEC) at Qatar Foundation partner Texas A&M University at Qatar (Tamuq).
The two-day engineering immersion event sponsored by Dolphin Energy, saw them participate in a variety of hands-on workshops and team-building activities, including a design competition, to learn what engineering looks like in real life.
SEC president Zaina Aloudeh (’23) said: “The FAME event gives us an opportunity to showcase what life at Texas A&M at Qatar: from our engineering majors, to Aggie culture and traditions. High school students who joined us got an opportunity to speak to current students, and gain insights from industry as well. We believe the event was a success, and we hope to see many of them joining us in the near future.”
Miguel Trevino, director of Student Affairs, said: “FAME is just one of the many events that our student leaders put together throughout the year.”
