The Department of Hajj and Umrah Affairs rounded off the electronic screening of Hajj candidates for the year 1444 AH according to specific requirements, the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs said on Wednesday. The deadline for registration was March 12, 2023. In a statement, the Department of Hajj and Umrah Affairs said the priority was given to Qataris and residents who had not previously performed Hajj, the elderly and those whose applications were not approved in the past. The selection process focused on the primary pilgrim, the statement read.
The statement added that SMSs were sent to approved applicants to communicate and register with the approved Hajj campaign offices, and to complete the required procedures. The approvals are given for a period of one week only, during which it is necessary to register with one of the approved campaigns, and sign a contract with them, the statement read. There are 19 authorized campaigns.
In February, HE the Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Ghanem bin Shaheen bin Ghanem Al Ghanim met with a number of licensed Qatari Hajj campaign owners, with the aim of providing full support for them and the countrys pilgrims, and facilitating registration and approval procedures and other related administrative procedures, to ensure the readiness and safety of pilgrims.
