The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the policy of deliberate medical neglect against Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails and detention centres.
The policy of medical negligence practiced by the occupation authorities against Palestinian prisoners completely contradicts the obligations imposed by international law, the Geneva Conventions and the principles of human rights, constitutes a flagrant violation of the relevant international covenants, and rises to the level of crimes, the ministry said in a statement.
The statement referred to the Palestinian prisoner Walid Daqqa, 60, who is subjected to deliberate medical negligence policy by the occupation prison service, stressing that the occupation government bears complete and direct responsibility for his life.
In its statement, the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called for real international pressure on the occupation to immediately release prisoner Daqqa, who suffers from spinal cord cancer and has been detained for 38 years.
