Qatar Charity (QC) continues to organise an Iftar table in Al Hilal, one of the 40 this Ramadan across the country, as part of the ‘Ramadan: Leave Your Mark’ campaign and within the framework of the ‘Feed the Fasting’ project.
Nearly 500 workers and bachelors break their fast daily at the Iftar table in Al Hilal, a statement said yesterday.
Osama al-Abdullah, the supervisor of the Iftar table, said that QC strives to reach the largest number of targeted workers and bachelors in this area.
An air-conditioned tent has been set up for 500 fasting people to ensure their comfort. A sermon is delivered in an Asian language before Iftar, he explained.
Muhammad Salman, an Islamic preacher, delivered a lecture in Urdu on the virtues of Ramadan, highlighting importance of fasting and the rewards a fasting person receives from Almighty Allah. He said that one must fast for the sake of Allah only, because he is the One, who will reward and honour him on the Day of Resurrection.
Hisham, a beneficiary of the Iftar table in Al Hilal, thanked QC for its humanitarian role. Mohammed Sihan praised QC’s efforts in providing Iftar meals to the fasting workers and bachelors.
