Sidra Medicine, a member of Qatar Foundation (QF), has earned the Joint Commission International (JCI)’s Gold Seal of Approval for Academic Medical Centre Hospital reaccreditation.
The Gold Seal of Approval is a symbol of quality that reflects an organisation’s commitment to providing safe and effective patient care, a statement said yesterday.
Dr Joel Roos, the vice-president for International Accreditation, Quality Improvement and Safety at the JCI said: “Joint Commission International accreditation provides academic medical centre hospitals with the processes contributing to improvements in a variety of areas from the enhancement of staff education to the demonstration of leading practices within the academic medical centre setting.”
“We commend Sidra Medicine for its efforts to become a quality improvement organisation, and achieving this pinnacle demonstrating a commitment to patient safety and quality,” he said.
Sidra Medicine chief executive Dr Iyabo Tinubu-Karch said: "I am proud to lead a team that has put quality and patient safety at the heart of everything they do. Attaining reaccreditation is certainly a testament to the continuous efforts of Sidra Medicine to provide safe care.”
