The Ooredoo Cup final against Umm Salal, to be played tomorrow at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium, won’t be a cakewalk for Al Duhail, says the Red Knights’ Nam Tae-hee.
Addressing a pre-match media conference yesterday, the attacking midfielder of Al Duhail stressed that Umm Salal would be keen to prove their worth having beaten Al Arabi and made the final. “The final will not be easy though our goal is to win the cup. We are expecting a difficult game against a motivated team that succeeded in proving its worth and deserved to reach this stage and after beating Al Arabi in the semi-final,” Nam Tae-hee said.
Their players will also be focused on winning the title.”
Al Duhil beat a top side Al Sadd in the semis and Tae-hee stressed that there won’t be any let up. We will take to the field with the same ambition as Umm Salal. We have the determination, seriousness and desire to win our first title in the season. We will do everything required to win this title and make our fans happy, especially since we succeeded in leading our group and in the semi-final we beat a fierce competitor in Al Sadd. Now, we are a step away from winning the cup and that is an important incentive for us.
“Our team is progressing well. We are now at the top of QNB Stars League standings and we have also reached the final of Qatar Cup 2023. We have the Ooredoo Cup final and quarter-finals of HH the Amir Cup and this indicates that Al Duhail are a fierce competitor in all tournaments during the season. We expect our fans’ support and presence in the final. It will greatly boost our morale, so we can taste our first title this season,” the South Korean added.

Umm Salal eyeing the
cup, says Al-Bakhit
Meanwhile, Umm Salal’s Yassin al-Bakhit, who scored the match-winner in the dying moments his team’s semi-final against Al Arabi, said his team is now eyeing the title.
“Reaching the final is a big and important step. We hope to win the title. We are ready to face Al Duhail with great spirit and morale, and we know fully that they are a strong team and we respect them very much. We can get the title this season in view of the great support from the club’s management headed by Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman al-Thani,” he said.
