The achievements of 117 professionals from the public and private sectors were celebrated on March 13 at the 2022 Qatar Leadership Centre (QLC) Honoring Ceremony, held at the Ritz Carlton, Doha.
The ceremony was attended by HE Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, Chairperson of QLC.
The QLC ceremony witnessed the honouring of 39 graduates of the Government Leaders Programme, 39 graduates of the Executive Leaders Programme, and 39 graduates of the Rising Leaders Programme.
The class of 2022 is the 10th cadre of professionals to have completed the QLC's national leadership programs since its establishment in 2010.
In her opening remarks, HE Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani stated: "I am proud of this remarkable group of Qatari professionals, with superior executive and management skills, who have demonstrated academic achievement and a dedication to enhancing their leadership capabilities.
“They are eager to contribute to our nation's transformation by diversifying the local economy and establishing a knowledge-based economy. I believe that this distinguished batch now has unparalleled opportunities to advance their careers and contribute to the implementation of Qatar National Vision 2030."
The ceremony was also attended by HE Sheikh Dr Abdullah bin Ali al-Thani, managing director and vice chairman, and members of QLC's board of directors and executive management.
HE Sheikh Dr Abdulla bin Ali al-Thani congratulated the newest alumni saying: “We are here to honour these outstanding 117 professionals who will contribute to shaping a future of prosperity and well-being for coming generations.
“They are now a part of more than 900 Qatari alumni who have completed QLC’s National Leadership Programmes. We are proud to support them in their education, innovative techniques, and ways of thinking, and we look forward to seeing the continued professional development of these exceptional individuals."
Dr Ahmad Abdulla al-Kuwari, general manager, QLC, noted: "QLC has equipped these professional managers with the latest solution-oriented business practices, which is exactly what their organisations expect of them. Furthermore, our partnerships with top academic institutions have given them access to some of the world’s pre-eminent experts."
Guests at the event included QLC’s Board of Directors, ministers, senior state officials, members of the public and private sectors, QLC’s partner universities, and family and friends of the class.
QLC has built a network of local, regional, and international partnerships to support the development of the National Leadership Programs, including the University of Cambridge, the University of Chicago, Duke University, Georgetown University, Harvard University, HEC Paris - Qatar, Oxford University, and Qatar University, in addition to specialised institutes such as the Al Jazeera Institute for Media, and the Singapore Civil Service College.
