A total of 161 male and female Muslim reverts will take part in the Sheikh Jassim bin Mohamed bin Thani Holy Qur’an Competition. Organised by the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs, the competition will be held at Sheikh Abdulla Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Centre (Fanar) at three levels.
These include 78 male contestants and 83 female participants. The competition for reverts comes within the framework of the organising committee’s interest in the new Muslims and their participation in Qur’an competitions.
Also, this is with the aim of strengthening brotherhood and solidarity among them, increasing their affiliation with Islam, and instilling the values of faith in their hearts in addition to teaching them the Qur’an and linking them to its etiquette and ruling, and working to nurture them and consolidate the correct concept of Islam in their hearts. It should be noted that the competition for the reverts category is organised in co-operation with Fanar.
The centre is concerned with serving the communities residing in Qatar. It spreads Islamic culture, consolidates the correct concept of moderate Islam and teaches Arabic to non-native speakers while caring for the reverts.
