The Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers (PSME), Qatar Chapter held its first general membership meeting and seminar in the hybrid format.
Chapter president Henry Regalado, in his welcome address, reiterated the organisation’s focus on sustainable development goals, the reason for choosing the theme “Mechanical Engineer’s Practices, Approaches and Strategies towards SDG #6: Clean Water and Sanitation” which is aligned with the chapter’s theme “Sustainable Practices, Approaches, and Strategies Towards Green Environment”.
Philippine embassy vice consul Monica Remsy Calangian was the guest of honour. PSME national president Loreto Catalan was the keynote speaker. Middle East vice president Shayed Mamayog was the inspirational speaker. The new members were administered the oath by immediate past president Edmondo Conanan and chapter director for membership Joseph Mar Adrias.
Part of the programme was to encourage everyone on how to become a professional mechanical engineer (PME) as headed by PSME alma chairman Simeon Perez. An invitation to the PSME Qatar Toastmaster’s Club was also included in the programme.
PSME Qatar also partnered with Philippine Nurses Association, Qatar Chapter, who offered a medical camp for free. The seminar was concluded with a message from the Overall Committee chairman Eduardo Manalo.
