The Ministry of Interior announced that the search and rescue teams were able to pull out two women alive from the debris of the building that collapsed in the Bin Derham area of Central Doha.
In a statement posted on its twitter account, the Ministry said: "Further to the previous statement regarding the collapse of a building in the Bin Durham area, the search and rescue teams were able to pull out two women alive. They have been shifted to the hospital to receive the necessary medical treatment."
The statement added that preliminary investigations indicated that maintenance work was going on in the building at the time of the collapse, adding that the relevant authorities have taken measures to ensure that parties responsible for the maintenance work had the necessary permits and to determine whether their actions had any impact on the building collapse.
Earlier today, the Ministry of Interior announced that the civil defence teams rescued seven persons after a four-storey building in Bin Derham area of Central Doha collapsed, while one person who was inside the building died.
