The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organisation (Alecso) honoured on Tuesday the late Qatari poet Sheikh Ali bin Saud al-Thani, the Tunisian poet Adam Fathi, and the late Iraqi poet Nazik al-Malaika, on the occasion of the celebration of the 9th session of the Arab Poetry Day, which falls on March 21.
Maryam al Hammadi, director of the Department of Culture and Arts at the Ministry of Culture said that the Ministry appreciates this well-deserved honour for the late Qatari poet, and for all Qatari writers and poets, and an opportunity to introduce Qatari creations at the Arab and international levels, official Qatar News Agency reported.
