Qatar Charity (QC) has started to deliver a new batch of urgent relief assistance to those affected by the earthquake in northern Syria.
The aid funded by Eid Charity is expected to benefit 5,750 people in northwestern Syria. This is part of QC’s continuous efforts to contribute to meeting the basic needs of the earthquake victims.
The aid, worth QR2mn, includes the installation and equipping of 1,150 shelter tents and the provision of primary shelter materials, which comprise mattresses, blankets, fire extinguishers, and first aid kits.
QC emphasised the importance of co-operation and concerted efforts to respond to humanitarian crises.
It stated that the co-operation with Eid Charity came as an extension of the strategic partnership between both organisations, and joint response from both to the great damage inflicted on Syrian whose suffering doubled after the earthquake.
QC noted that it seeks through this project to protect children and families, mitigate the damage to them, provide them with psychological support, and ensure their safety and security.
Eid Charity stated that it extended a helping hand to those affected by the earthquake in northern Syria, in co-operation with one of its most important strategic partners, which is QC, based on its humanitarian and pioneering role towards the international community around the world. It indicated that relief assistance of all kinds come within the framework of its most important priorities to help the affected, the displaced, and refugees.
Eid Charity pledged more strategic cooperation with QC through several important humanitarian projects to contribute to achieving the Qatar National Vision and the Sustainable Development Goals.
