The scientific conference accompanying the 10th Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition (AgriteQ) discussed many issues related to the National Food Security Strategy, the importance of raising awareness of food safety and agricultural investment, as well as discussing modern methods and technologies used globally to increase agricultural production, while preserving the environment.
As part of the conference, a workshop entitled "The National Dialogue for Food Systems: The National Food Security Strategy 2023-2030" discussed aspects of developing food and agricultural systems and ways to overcome challenges, with the participation of officials, experts and specialists in the food security sector.
Relatedly, officials and experts participating in the 10th AgriteQ asserted that the broad international participation reflects the importance of the exhibition, as a wide window for exchanging experiences between those interested in agricultural and environmental solutions, and an opportunity to learn about the latest trends and technologies used in these two vital sectors, which are mainly linked to the sustainable development goals and food security.
They underlined the importance of the exhibition in promoting their products and making deals through it, being an effective platform that allows specialists and experts to learn about the most important modern technologies related to water treatment, waste management, smart agriculture, and others agricultural aspects.
On the sidelines of his participation in exhibition, HE Sheikh Faisal bin Hamad bin Jassim Al Thani, Chairman of Al Mardia Agriculture and Trade Company, revealed a new technology to solve water salinity problems (osmotic membranes), which is a product developed in the State of Qatar.
He said that, in cooperation with major international manufacturers and researchers, Green Energy Company was able to develop highly efficient osmotic membranes that have the ability to reduce the rate of salt deposition, which increases the life of the membranes and reduces the cost of maintenance and periodic replacement.
