Social Development Center (Nama), an affiliate of Ministry of Social Development and Family's Qatar Foundation for Social Work, held a panel discussion on youth and social work in Qatar in co-operation with the Excellence Center for Training and Consulting of the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies.
A group of high-level local and international officials and representatives of the Nama Center and the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies as well as representatives of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) participated in the panel discussion at the headquarters of the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies.
The participants presented the mechanism and results of a study on "Youth and Social Work in the State of Qatar", which was previously prepared by Nama Center in co-operation with ESCWA, in addition to the study's outputs and its contribution to the development of youth.
Participants shed light on the results of the study and how its outputs affect the social work environment in Qatar and on future plans for the programs and initiatives offered by Nama Center.
Acting Executive Director of Nama Center Noof Ibrahim al-Abdullah said that they seek to cooperate with various parties internally and externally in order to expand options and opportunities for the promising youth, adding that Nama Center is looking forward to concluding fruitful partnerships with various local, regional and international agencies and institutions in order to improve the quality of life of members of the Qatari society in line with the pillars of the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the center's vision of preparing empowered and active youth, and in its endeavor to build their capabilities to develop their ideas so that they become a solid base that contributes effectively to the achievement of the desired goals and objectives of the national vision.
Executive Director of the Excellence Center for Training and Consulting Dr Ahmed al-Mawry appreciated the co-operation with Nama Center in organising this event, which comes as part of the center's efforts to strengthen the partnership between the two parties by providing quality consulting services in which a group of local and international experts participate, and by contributing to improving the study's outputs and implementation mechanisms. He stressed the center's readiness to provide all support in the field of consultations and implementation of studies and to provide training services aimed at strengthening the efforts of the Nama Center to empower and develop youth capabilities in line with Qatar National Vision 2030, which represents a road map for the future of the country.
