The Qatar Concert Choir (QCC) will present *A Musical Mosaic, its first public concert of the year, on March 21 at 7pm at the United School International Auditorium in the Pearl.
Given that the QCC draws its singers from all over the world and from a multitude of cultural backgrounds, artistic director Giovanni Pasini has chosen music representing a range of countries and styles, a statement said.
Together, the songs create a glorious picture of music through the centuries, from ancient Arabian melodies through to Disney musicals, and from opera to the rock opera of Queen’s *Bohemian Rhapsody.
The performance includes guest appearances from the French soprano Fabienne Conrad, percussionist George Oro, and Qatar’s Cinemoon Ensemble (part of the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra).
“It’s also our first concert in the United School International,” said QCC president Baatrice van der Haert. “We’re really excited to be performing in such a wonderful new venue.”
More information is available on the QCC website.
