UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres welcomed the agreement on reestablishing diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran.
He expressed his appreciation of the role played by China in hosting the latest round of talks, and praised the efforts of Oman and Iraq as well. He stressed that good ties between Saudi Arabia and Iran are essential for the region's stability.
